Sustainable transport
Thanks to the permitted gross vehicle weight of 44 tonnes, you optimise your payload and make your logistics more sustainable. In particular, you reduce the number of transport movements and cut your CO2 emissions up to 40% compared to road transport. To further optimise your payload, we focus on equipment innovations, which help us further increase the capacity of our tank and silo containers.
Innovation & payload
We keep evolving to provide the right container for your product. In addition to the standard 20ft tank containers with a capacity of up to 26,000 litres, we offer 25ft tanks which let you transport up to 36,000 litres. In addition, we are leading progress in the dry bulk segment. We transport raw materials in 40ft silo containers, which let you transport up to 59m3. So it’s no surprise that more than half of the intermodal transport of dry bulk at Van den Bosch now goes by rail.
Conditioned bulk transport
The conditioned transport of liquid bulk has also been entrusted to us. We recently introduced the High Volume Temperature Controlled tank container with a capacity of 29,000 litres, specifically designed for high density liquid foodstuffs such as fresh juices. This insulated container features temperature sensors that allow us to monitor the product temperature 24/7 and provide insight through our platform FreightInsight.
Flexibility with floating stock
The reliability of rail has regularly been under discussion due to overdue maintenance and extreme weather. With our floating stock solutions, we offer you extra flexibility.
Rail siding
Over the years, we have also gained experience with rail siding (‘anschlussgleis’ loading). A good alternative to rail tank cars, as a tank container is more flexible and therefore more cost-effective.
