Sustainable Development Goals

The importance of sustainable logistics is growing. Smarter and greener solutions are required. But most importantly, sustainability begins with oneself. Van den Bosch wants to contribute to positive, sustainable and dependable change in the supply chain through intelligent innovation.

We want to supply the world in the most sustainable way. To make that happen, we use our knowledge, experience, equipment, systems and network. Based on good leadership, we also want to set a good example by giving substance to this theme based on five SDGs:

Good health & well-being

With this development goal, we focus on improving the health and well-being of people worldwide. It aims to improve the quality of life for everyone. In concrete terms, we focus on developing health programmes to prevent sickness absence, a fully staffed learning and development organisation and providing all our mobile workers with a good workplace and the right equipment.

Reduced inequalities

As an international organisation, we value promoting equal opportunities, both within countries and between countries. With this chosen development goal, we promote inclusiveness and equality, among other ways through greater transparency in the remuneration system and conditions of employment and a stronger representation of women in leadership positions.

Climate action

By acting on this development goal, we commit to addressing climate change and its impacts. With our CO2 reduction strategy based on the ISO 14083 standard, we are working concretely to make our business activities more sustainable. We also committed to the Ocean Clean Sweep pledge, we are focusing on decarbonising supply chains and we share our knowledge through an online platform.

Decent work and economic growth

This development goal focuses on promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth and employment. The aim is to improve employment and boost the economy by promoting better working conditions and fair employment. We contribute to this through the working facilities we have created in the African market and our learning and development catalogue, among other things.

Partnership for the goals

Partnerships and international cooperation are very important to us. Among other things, our long-standing partnership with UNICEF Netherlands plays a prominent role in our organisation. This development goal fits well with this. By working together more intensively, we can strengthen capacity and resources to implement the sustainable development agenda. In concrete terms, this includes providing financial support to employees through sponsorship requests and financially supporting developing countries.
